About Sara

My 25 years of experience with human service agencies has been focused on working with staff, youth, and communities to create ecosystems of care grounded in equity, diversity, and inclusion.  My work has included wilderness counseling, in treatment centers helping youth end intergenerational abuse cycles, student success counseling at Job Corps, and supporting youth to transition from homelessness through case management and program supervision at Northwest Youth Services.

I earned a Master’s of Education in Adult and Higher Education from Western Washington University, and Certifications in Healing-Centered Engagement with Dr. Shawn Ginwright, and Advanced Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness with David Treleaven to enhance what I can bring into program development, training facilitation, workgroups, policy discussions, and individual and group engagement.

My own lived experiences of ability/disability, identity, race,  and culture helps inform how I invite everyone in. My work is to uplift community and integrate practices of continuous learning and interconnection.
